Rents and GST

Many new to leasing wonder if commercial properties for rent are advertised including or excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Our policy is!

  • All rents are plus GST (and not stated in advertising)
  • If there is no GST (i.e owner is not registered), it will be in the description as “no GST applicable for this property”

For the uninitiated it can be confusing/frustrating that this goes against shops having to advertise inc. GST, however, that’s the industry and norm for commercial property where you’ll be claiming it back.

Sales – it’s a little different. Advertisements will explicitly state if they are +GST, which means that it is not a going concern/tenant occupied premises.

Feel free to ask to be sure  🙂
